A karaoke track built from the real song — MP3, or MP4 when you upload a video — with 20% of the lead vocal kept as a guide, the key shifted (shown as A minor → C minor) and the tempo slowed to reach the notes.

What Is a Karaoke Maker?

A karaoke maker is a tool that turns a song into a sing-along track by removing the lead singer and keeping the backing vocals. Vocal Isolator's version uses a BS-RoFormer model for lead and backing vocals, can keep 20% of the lead as a guide, shifts the key ±6 semitones and tempo from 50% to 150%, and returns MP3 or WAV, or MP4 from a video at the original tempo.

How Do I Check the Karaoke Track Before I Download?

The karaoke maker lets you hear the result before you download: it splits the first 30 seconds of your song for free, and you can switch between the original, the karaoke track, and the lead vocal it removed. In the chorus the lead singer should be gone while the harmonies and the band stay.

Want to hear the melody while you learn? Choose "Guide vocal" to keep the lead singer quietly in the mix. Song too high or too low? Move the key a few semitones. If the intro has no singing, choose "Try another part".

  • Karaoke trackThe music with the backing vocals kept and the lead singer removed.
  • Lead vocalThe lead vocal the karaoke maker removed comes as its own WAV track, so you can learn the melody.
  • FormatMP3 or WAV audio (44.1 kHz, 16-bit WAV), or MP4 when you upload a music video.

Why Do Most Karaoke Tracks Feel Empty?

An ordinary vocal remover deletes every voice in the song, harmonies included. The verses sound fine, but the chorus collapses into a thin band with a hole where the backing singers used to be, and you end up singing against silence.

Official karaoke versions exist for only a fraction of songs, and many karaoke uploads are re-recorded covers in a different key with a cheaper sound. A karaoke maker that works from the real recording, and knows the lead from the harmonies, fixes both.

What Makes This Karaoke Maker Different?

Lead vocal out, harmonies in

A dedicated karaoke model tells the lead singer apart from the backing vocals, so only the lead is removed and the chorus stays full.

Keep a guide vocal

The karaoke maker lets you set the lead vocal level anywhere from silent to full. A quiet guide helps you learn a new song, and the download uses the mix you set.

Karaoke video from a music video

Upload an MP4, MOV, or WEBM and download an MP4 with the lead vocal removed and the picture kept, including any lyrics already on screen.

The lead vocal as its own track

Download the removed lead vocal too, to practice the melody, study the phrasing, or compare your take with the original.

Trim to the part you sing

Cut the download down to a verse or a chorus for a short performance. Minutes are counted for the whole file.

Why Does the Karaoke Track Sound Like the Real Song?

A model built for lead and backing vocals

The karaoke maker uses a BS-RoFormer karaoke model that scores 10.23 dB lead-vocal SDR on the public MVSEP lead and backing vocals leaderboard. It is trained to split the lead from the harmonies, not just voice from music.

The original recording, not a cover

The karaoke maker gives you the song you know with the lead taken out. It keeps the original arrangement, so it sounds like the record when you sing, and you can still move the key to fit your voice or slow it down while you learn.

What Can You Turn into a Karaoke Track?

Any song file or music video you have. Upload the best-quality copy, since a WAV or FLAC separates more cleanly than a heavily compressed MP3.

Karaoke Maker FAQ

Partly. The karaoke maker previews the first 30 seconds of any song free, with no account. Sign in and your first 1 minute of downloads is free too. Longer songs use minutes from a minute pack or a monthly plan, charged by song length and rounded up to the whole minute, and pack minutes never expire.

No. The karaoke maker removes the lead vocal from the audio but does not write or sync lyrics. If you upload a music video or lyric video, the lyrics already on screen stay in the MP4 you download. For scrolling lyrics, load the MP3 karaoke track into a lyric-video app.

Yes. Choose "Guide vocal" to keep the lead singer at 20% under the music, which helps when you are still learning the song, or set the lead vocal slider to any level you like. Switch back to "No lead vocal" as you get confident. The download uses the mix you set.

Then the karaoke maker removes the singer and returns the music, which is the same result the instrumental maker gives. It works on any song, so you do not need to check for harmonies before you upload. Preview the chorus to hear exactly which voices stay before you download.

Not from a link. The karaoke maker works on files, so upload a video or audio file you already have, such as an MP4, MOV, or MP3, up to 2 GB. A music video comes back as an MP4 with the lead vocal removed, or as MP3 or WAV audio if you only need the track.

Yes. The karaoke maker runs in the browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, Mac, and Chromebook, with no app to install. Download the karaoke track as MP3 for a phone or speaker, or as MP4 from a music video, then play it on a TV through screen casting, a USB stick, or any media player.

Yes. Under the preview, the key control moves the karaoke track up or down by up to 6 semitones without changing its speed, and the editor shows the new key, for example "A minor → C minor". The speed control slows the song down to practise, from 50%, without changing the key. A key change keeps an MP4 in sync; a speed change downloads as audio.
